Who will win Group B at the European Championship 2024: preview

The 2024 European Championship starts on June 14 and ends on July 14. Absolutely all matches of the tournament will take place in Germany. 24 national teams will take part in the competition, which will be divided into six groups of four teams. The teams that will take the first two places in the quartets and the four best third places will advance to the playoffs.

The following national teams will compete for victory in Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania. Having carefully studied each of these teams, it will be more likely to predict who will take first place in this quartet.

European Championship 2024

Spain

Luis de la Fuente Castillo’s team had a great qualification and deservedly beat the Scots by four points in Group A. After the loss to the Tartan Army, Spain went on a streak of six victories in a row. In these battles, the Furia Roja conceded only three goals, and scored 25 goals in response. At the same time, only Norway was minimally defeated by the Spaniards on the road.

“Red Fury” found itself in a rather difficult group, but the composition of the team looks competitive and is quite capable of being first. At the same time, Alvaro Morata and company should be excluded from underestimating their opponent.

Croatia

Zlatko Dalic’s boys looked extremely unconvincing in the selection and in Quintet D took second place, one point behind Turkey. At the same time, the checkers managed to beat Wales by four points thanks to clean wins over Latvia and Armenia in the two final rounds. At the same time, in eight matches, Croatia conceded only four goals, that is, an average of one goal per two matches.

The “flaming” ones are not very stable, but there is still enough time to improve teamwork. The selection of players for the Croatian national team is quite good and the “checkers” can aim for direct access to the playoffs, and possibly even victory in the group.

Italy

Luciano Spalletti’s team finished second in Group C in the qualifying round, ahead of Ukraine only in terms of additional indicators. The “azure team” might not have reached the final part of the 2024 European Championship, but in a scandalous battle with the Ukrainians they kept a clean sheet in the world in Leverkusen. Italy won four games, drew and lost twice. In defense, the Skudara Azzurra did not look the best, but in attack they acted confidently, scoring an average of two goals per game.

There are quite a lot of famous performers in the squadra azzurra, but in terms of gameplay the team looks very unstable. The Italians should compete for one of the tickets to the relegation battles, but it will be extremely difficult to compete with the Croats and Spaniards.

Albania

Silvinho’s boys, unexpectedly for many, won Group E, ahead of the Czech Republic in additional indicators and four points ahead of Poland. For this, Albania had enough draws in the last two rounds with Moldova and the Faroe Islands. Having won four matches and drawn three times, the “mountain eagles” suffered only one defeat from the Poles on the road.

At home, the Albanians force themselves to fight even quite formidable opponents. At the same time, the “red-blacks” periodically lose points even against frankly weak opponents. Albania is in an extremely difficult group and will not play in Tirana. So the Mountain Eagles are unlikely to pull off another sensation.

Our forecast

Albania absolutely deservedly is the main outsider of the group and one should not expect a miracle from the “red-blacks”. Italy and Croatia will likely battle it out for second place, and whoever falls behind will be able to make it to the knockout stages as one of the top third teams. The Spaniards look the most stable in this quartet. So, with a high probability, it is the “Furia Roja” that will advance to the next round of competition from the first line.
