“Be careful who you choose to shoot with as it reflects your reputation.” – Ms. Intermodelo World 2020 Vanessa Guimoye
Vanessa, how did you get involved with modeling? Where are you based now? I got my first opportunity when I was 16 through a friend of my mom’s. I was really excited about it. It was doing a runway show for a Brazilian clothing line. There were many photographers there and other companies and it was that day that my career as a model was launched. I’m based in Florida, and I have some agencies but I’m not exclusive. I try to keep my possibilities open for other opportunities.
Tell us more about yourself. What else do you do next to modeling? Besides Modeling I have a Bachelors degree in psychology and I just started acting classes. I have worked in broadcasting when I hosted different events on local TV entertainment shows.
What’s something that you miss about your country and home? My family and the food.
What do you love most about being a model? And, what do you least enjoy? I love that it provides a flexible work schedule, and most of the time it is a fun a positive environment. The thing I sometimes have trouble with is being away from my family for very long periods of time.
What are your favorite genres and styles of modeling? In your opinion, what are your strongest features as a model? I like fashion, swimsuit, sports and photoshoots for themed magazines and catalogs. I honestly like everything modeling has to offer.
I feel that I’m very well rounded but I am very popular with clients looking for a model with a positive attitude that can work with all types of individuals in all environments. I don’t complain and I work hard. I keep physically fit and I am very good at following instructions.
What are your achievements you are proud most of today? First of all I absolutely love what I do. I’ve been modeling for many years now and I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had in my life. Throughout my career, I have won several beauty pageant titles including Ms. Latina International United States 2014-15, Miss Cosmopolitan World Perú 2015-16, Miss Swimsuit Centerfold Peru 2015-16, Miss Tropic Beauty Paracas 2015-16, Miss Peru Globe 2016-17, Miss Supertalent of the World Peru 2017-18, Ms. International World 2018-19 and my recent tittle Ms. Intermodelo World 2020. I also won Icon of the world at the finals in Seoul South Korea, walking the runway at the fashion week. I have not only represented many brands and companies in Florida, but also outside the country. I am always looking for the next challenge in my career and new opportunities.
What is the best advice you have ever been given by a photographer? Be careful who you choose to shoot with as it reflects your reputation.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done? My favorite was a space themed shoot I did for a music artist.
Is there anything you wish you had known when you first got into modeling? Honestly no, I think I’ve been lucky to meet professional people and network with them.
What’s something you haven’t achieved but hope to? I would like to eventually be an actress.
If you hadn’t become a model, what else do you think you would be doing? I would have chosen a career in psychology.
Do you have any beauty secrets or products you swear by? I sleep 8 hours a night and drink a gallon of water a day. I use coconut oil for my hair.
Where can we see more of your works?
Describe yourself in three words please. Happy. Blessed. Dreamer.
What is your life motto? When God closes a door, he opens a window.
Thank you, Vanessa.
