3 Natural Remedies for Body Aches

There are many herbs and spices from all over the world that are known for their medicinal abilities.

Using natural remedies for body aches like these falls under a category of treatment known as alternative medicine. This also includes yoga, acupuncture and other practices, such as Reiki, that might not be offered by your doctor.

You might want to look into these if you’re a frequent sufferer of body aches, but for the time being, I’ve highlighted 3 of the most effective natural remedies for you to try.

Turmeric

Turmeric contains a chemical compound called curcumin, which has been shown to aid in treating several chronic conditions. This is because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Sadly, Turmeric contains about 3% of curcumin by weight, and most of the studies on its effectiveness against pain have used at least 1g of curcumin a day. That means you’ll need to eat about 35 grams of Turmeric a day.

Not impossible, but certainly much easier with the increase in the availability of curcumin supplements. Now you can get 1000mg of bioavailable curcumin in a single capsule.

Look for supplements that also contain black pepper extract as this increases the absorption of curcumin in the body.

Green Malay Kratom

Kratom or Mitragyna speciosa is a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. It is part of the coffee family and has been used in traditional medicines due to its opioid and stimulant type effects for at least 150 years.

Green Kratom is one of the three main strains of Kratom (White vein, Red vein, and Green vein). Green Malay Kratom is essentially Green vein Kratom that is native to Malaysia.

Green kratom is a ‘best of both worlds’ option, combining the pain-relieving qualities of red vein kratom with the euphoria and energy boost of white vein kratom.

Its effects are usually noticeable within 10 to 15 minutes of ingestion and can last from 2 to 8 hours depending on the dose.

It’s usually purchased as a powder and can even be added to your favorite smoothie.

Essential Oils

The great thing about Essential Oils is its versatility. When using Essential Oils to relieve body aches you should add them to a hot bath, or apply them directly to affected areas (don’t forget the carrier oil).

When it comes to body aches there is a holy trinity of essential oils:

• Rosemary Essential Oil can be used to soothe pain, reduce inflammation, eliminate headaches, and even strengthen the immune system.

• Peppermint Essential Oil is a very effective natural painkiller and muscle relaxant. It also has cooling, invigorating and antispasmodic properties making it great for body aches. Peppermint oil is especially helpful in alleviating tension headaches

• Eucalyptus Essential Oil has been found to possess both pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it especially effective for joint pain.
