What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol. This is a compound that naturally occurs in the leaves and flowers of the hemp plant.

Essentially, each plant found in the cannabis family has CBD, a component that can easily be extracted from the hemp plant.

Contrary to popular belief, CBD is a non-psychoactive component. This means that it doesn’t get the user high, unlike its cousin tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC). It is because of this nature that CBD became a hit and is currently in demand. Furhermore, CBD flower is widerly used to treat a wide variety of symptoms and disorders. It is also ideal for those that seek natural relief.

Introducing vegan CBD edibles

People can consume CBD in various ways, depending on the format it is in. For instance, some can ingest it orally by placing a few drops of CBD oil under their tongue. Vaping or smoking CBD is also very popular.

However, while these are some of the most common ways to get CBD absorbed into the body, they do not appeal to everyone. Furthermore, they can be quite conspicuous, putting off anyone that wishes to consume the products discreetly, especially in public.

A much more palatable way to consume CBD is by eating CBD edibles. These are often taken in the form of chocolate and gummy candies.

CBD edibles have evolved over the last couple of years to accommodate different dietary requirements. One of the latest entrants to the market is vegan CBD edibles.

As the popularity of vegan CBD products continues to reach an all-time peak, many brands are now more excited than ever and have begun pushing and investing in such products.

But what happens if you wish to create your own vegan CBD edibles at home? Before that, let’s take a look at some expert tips for making vegan edibles.

Tips for making vegan CBD edibles

There are three types of CBD to consider when making edibles: full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, and CBD isolate.

The full-spectrum CBD contains cannabinoids, terpenes, and molecular compounds from the hemp plant. This type of CBD contains traces of THC.

Broad-spectrum CBD contains all the cannabinoids but without THC.

The CBD isolate is derived from industrial hemp and is purely CBD.

You need to consider the strength of the end-product when making CBD edibles. The first step involves calculating the milligrams in the tincture against the number of servings in your recipe.

For instance, for approximately 10 pounds of body weight, you need to add the standard dosage of one to six milligrams. Although experienced users can add a little more tincture per serving, it would be best to start at this range if you’re still a beginner.

We have identified and listed three of the most common, easy-to-make vegan CBD edibles recipes that you can follow from your home.
