Self-confidence is something we all need to work on and build gradually. It doesn’t come overnight and we’re not born with it, even though some people may seem to have it as an inherent characteristic. 1. Start With Identifying Negative Beliefs

When talking about some easy steps to build your self-confidence, we must start with identifying negative beliefs. You need to identify each situation and find out whether it evokes feelings of fear, anxiety, discomfort, or any other feelings in order to be able to deal with them. Well, easily – you just need to find evidence from your life that contradicts these beliefs. You need to find the counter-argument for each negative self-belief. Since this is highly subjective and thus, hard to do, you can try distancing yourself from the negative self-belief by imaging you’re trying to help a cousin or a friend instead. 3. Be Mindful Of The Way You Attribute Successes And Failures

Men and women look at both failures and successes in a different way. Men tend to attribute failure to external circumstances, while women attribute it to their intrinsic lack of skill. As far as successes are concerned, men tend to own them more than women, who attribute them to some external circumstances. Due to this habitual behaviour, failure affects women more, making them doubt their skills and capabilities, so women tend to avoid situations where there is a great chance of failure. One typical example of how women attribute their successes and failures is taking driving lessons. It goes without saying that men are better drivers than women, right? So, many women are intimidated by this and think they won’t be able to pass their driving test because they’re not good enough. Many women then don’t even try to take the driving test as a result. And the ones who do, if they pass they attribute the success to some external factors such as no crowd in the streets and perhaps luck, while, on the other hand, they tend to attribute failure to their lack of skill and ability.
