The teaching profession has been in existence for ages and has witness so many transformations over time. One can say that all professions are tied to teaching directly or indirectly, especially, once it has to with learning something new or gaining new experience and insight in a subject area.

In several instances, teachers have to use different tools for passing their messages across to students bearing in mind that there are different types of students in class. Some students are super smart while some are trying to catch up. Hence, the importance of a teacher having or using the right educational tools can never be overestimated.

If even several years ago teachers used only chalk and blackboard to teach kids, now pro-teachers are got to grips with drones and robots and effectively use them in teaching. To be honest, it gives just incredible results. Kids perceive information much better and love to get to classrooms and students are focused on writing Pro-Papers on modern topics such as robots and drones development.

But then, talking about the use of technology by teachers is analogous to trying to take a look at the rate of adoption of technology by teachers in the teaching profession. There is different rate of adoption of technology by teachers. While some are innovators, some are early adopters or late adopters and even laggards. Innovators do not need to be convinced to apply a new technology to their work while for early or late adopters there is need to convince them but at different levels of persuasion. Laggards do not even hear about the new technology talk less of being willing to apply the new technology.

The teachers who effectively use drones, robots and other cutting-edge technologies lead students to:

1. Flexibility

Teaching on its own requires great level of flexibility as there are difference among students in class in terms of assimilation rate and active learning. So most teachers that use technology in recent times learn to be able to identify and use different types of technology that cut across all types of learners. On the other hand, technology can be unreliable due to certain glitches or attack that can disrupt the use during teaching. As a result of this, the teachers that use technology always have back up plan should there be any disruption in the technology they are using in class. Also, they are willing to switch techniques whenever there is need to do so.

2. Positive Mindset

Though teachers are expected to have positive mindset for the development and growth of their students, this is not the case for all teachers. It has been observed that teachers that are innovators or early adopters and in some cases the late adopters have positive mindset in the application of technology in their classes. Most of them believe that effective use of technology in their knowledge transfer process engenders easy understanding of the subject matter as well as growth of the student in the long run. Not being oblivious of the difficulty of applying technology at times in teaching, the positive mindset of these teachers as well as their vision for impact keep them going.

3. Change Agents

Teachers that embrace the use of technology in teaching are mostly perceived to be change agents or innovators. They are constantly evolving and improving their teaching skills to meet the requirements of the present age and dispensation. They show great level of adaptability in them to any technological advancement as long as it aids their own performance in the delivery of their services.

4. Demonstration of Great Foresight

Most teachers are able to foresee the kinds of questions their students will want to ask usually by thinking ahead of the students. This is usually easier to do as they were once students too. But then, teachers that effectively use technology are able to plan ahead of their students as well as problem solving every possible issues they might encounter during or after the use of the technology.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation Focused

Teachers using technology in their teaching profession are conscious of the measuring how effective the technological tools are in class and the impact on the student’s learning rate. Good teachers care about their students in terms of identifying what is best for them and are willing to use technologies that will help their students to attain their full potential. Teachers using technology usually take time to evaluate student performance through counterfactual analysis that shows the performance of student before and after the implementation of the technology across several indicators.

All this shows that out fast-paced world has been taken over by modern technologies, and drones, robots and other tools are just the first step towards new era.
