Let’s take a look at some of the attractions that make Port Macquarie such a great place to live and visit!

The Port Macquarie Coastal Path – This 9-kilometre walk along the stunning coastline starts at the Marina near the Town Green Foreshore. The easy-going walk meanders past Town Beach, the Rocky Beach Lookout, Flynn’s Beach, Nobby’s Beach, and Harry’s Lookout, which overlooks Shelly Beach. From there the path leads to Sea Acres Forest and finally comes to its conclusion at Tacking Point Lighthouse. Do not forget your camera, this is one of the most gorgeous stretches of coastline on the continent!

Hit The Beaches – If you have done the Coastal Path you will already have experienced some of these fantastic beaches! There are 17 beaches near town, so there is plenty of sand and surf to go around! Here are four of our favourite beaches accessible from the Coastal Path to give you just a taste of what’s in store for you:

    • Flynns Beach – This lovely stretch of coastline lies between two rocky headlands, making it a great place to go surfing! The headlands give the beach some shelter from the wind, so it’s a good place to lie on the sand and do some sunbathing. There is also a small cafe where you can grab a snack at if all that ocean beauty makes you hungry!
    • Town Beach – This easy-to-reach beach is just a hop skip and a jump from town, making it a very convenient place to get some ocean views without having to hike too far. There is a nice cafe and plenty of picnic tables and benches to enjoy your seaside lunch on.
    • Shelley Beach – For those who don’t mind a longer walk, this rugged beach can be accessed from the Port Macquarie Coastal Trail. The beach is surrounded by tranquil rainforest, it’s quiet, and has only a few visitors making it a wonderful place for a peaceful rest away from the madding crowds.
    • Lighthouse Beach – The longest walk from town, but well worth the effort thanks to its stunning views and white sands. Much of the beach is protected from the wind, so it’s the perfect place for a seaside picnic.

We have barely scratched the surface of all the things to see and do in and around delightful Port Macquarie, have a look at the town’s official website to further entice you! We look forward to seeing you!
