Today I need to pitch a piece in regard to fashion and health 2 very important aspects of our lives but what I have come to realize is that as much as these are important aspects it means nothing if we don’t know who we are because knowing who we are allows to express our true selves through our fashion, we come to understand how important our health is. Knowing who you are the most powerful place to find one’s self, it is liberating. Therefore, I would like to address self-awareness.

Let’s Start by Defining Self Awareness — it is a noun. A conscious knowledge of one’s own character and feelings. Being self-aware filters down into all spheres of our lives. Our emotional, mental, physical, social, financial, academic, environmental and spiritual areas. We think better, we do better, we are simply better once self-awareness starts to play a fundamental role in our lives. This allows us our Fashion sense and to better take care of ourselves. Once we realize just how important self is, you discover the real you this something I have learned while on self-discovery journal.

Let’s Break That Down

Self-Awareness is having a clear perception of YOUR personality, including YOUR strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. It allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your response to them at the moment. Self-Awareness is the foundation of your own success. In one’s personal development self-awareness is the first aspect you would need to look into. Now, that we understand exactly what Self-awareness is, I am sure you can agree just how important this is, because when we have a better understanding of ourselves, of whom we are, we are able to experience ourselves as unique and as Individuals.

We then know to make changes and to build on areas of strength as well as identify areas where we would like to make improvements, this is all based on our own discovery and not based on other’s thoughts or judgements or criticism. Now, what a place of power that is to experience, for one to operate from on a daily basis, being aware of YOU. This allows us to be good to ourselves, to not allow anyone in our space to dictate to us, to make us feel insecure or inferior or not good enough.

You Might Ask, How Do I Develop Self-Awareness?

Well, here are a few tips:

  1. Look at yourself objectively and fairly, don’t be too hard on yourself.
  2. Talk to yourself. Be kind to you.
  3. Spend time with yourself, start enjoying your own company.
  4. Become comfortable, content and confident with whom you are.
  5. Change what YOU don’t like, it’s NOT about others
  6. Have daily reflections
  7. Daily quiet time
  8. Write down your goals, plans and priorities
  9. Keep a journal
  10. Start being good to yourself, less criticism and judgement.

Self-awareness is a vital first step in taking control of your life, creating what you want, and mastering your future. Where you choose to focus your energy, emotions, personality, and reactions determines where you will end up in life.

Ladies, mom’s, wives time to set our worlds on fire by becoming more self-aware.

Lets us start to love and accept who we are, flaws and all.

Thank you.

Simone.
